Wedding's Over, What to Do with Your Gown?

Your big day has come and gone, the honeymoon is over, and it's time to start your new married life together! It's now time to send out those than-you letters, find a place for all of those nice wedding presents and settle in. Have you had a chance to think about what you are going to do with that wedding gown yet? If not let me give you some suggestions. All women know that your wedding gown has a tremendous sentimental value to you. He are are some ideas that will increase the special meaning of it by creating family traditions. You can use the fabric or material to create a baby blanket for your first child, years later they will be able to bring home their first child wrapped in it, so on and so on. Or you can make a Christening outfit for you child. Once again, your child will be able to use it for the Christenings of their child and so on. Both ideas are wonderful ways to create traditions and pride for your family in years to come. If your taste tends to sway to the traditional, you can also preserve your gown and save if for your daughter to wear on her wedding day. She will be able to have the material reworked for a more contemporary style. Finally, there is the option of donating your gown. There is a wonderful organization Brides against Breast Cancer, they organize a gown sale. To find out more go to http://makingmemories.org/. No matter what you decide you can't go wrong, your memories will be with you forever!

Carnations: Friend or Foe?

Among the many decisions the bride to be must make in the designing of her wedding day is the flowers. If you are still in the process of deciding what you would like to carry down the isle, I have one word for you: Carnations! Although carnations have bee associated with some of our sadder moments (funerals), they are actually beautiful flowers with lovely meanings and can be quite cost effective for those of us who need to keep an eye on our wallets. The symbolism of the carnation is actually quite appropriate for a wedding. They represent divine love, fascination, and distinction. You will however, want to be careful of the color your choose. Pink, red, and white are the colors you want to stick with. Pink symbolizes a women's love. Red symbolizes admiration. White symbolizes faithfulness, innocence, sweetness, and ardent love. White is usually chosen as the boutonnieres for the groom. You will want to stay away from striped or yellow carnations, they symbolize refusal and disappointment. Carnations can definitely be a friend to the brides to be!

Welcome all and thank you for visiting our new online world. We're happy to have you stop by anytime and check out our thoughts, ramblings and (hopefully) inspiring ideas! Hello, I'm Nadine L. Poliard, a Professional Bridal Consultant and founder of Nadine Lynn Weddings and I'd like for you to meet my alter ego: "Wedding Stylista"~ she's the more fashion forward, funky diva in me. And she isn't afraid to show you a bold new world of colors and creative ideas such as a lounge themed reception layout without dining tables, even if it is non-traditional. She's ready to go outside the box and share concepts, experiences, lessons learned and truly bring thoughtful design to the masses. With my years of commercial experience designing interiors for everything from corporate offices and law firms to cool condos and sales centers - I've learned a proven process and developed a keen eye for color and design that brings a fresh and interesting perspective to everyday weddings. You'll discover that you don't have to do it like everyone else.... instead you'll be able to experience what truly represents you - as individuals and as a couple, commemorating and celebrating you new life together. We'll explore more than just flowers and linens; we'll explore the process, functions and character of an event including the use of all your senses: touch, sight, sound, taste, and smell. So come back often or subscribe to find insightful Vendor Chats, thoughtful and creative Muse Panes (inspiration boards) and a plethora of ideas for creating the wedding of your dreams. Also visit our preferred vendor network, "Our Little Black Book".
